Overall Objectives of Job The candidate would be responsible for technical deliveries, which include environment build, maintain the environment in operation condition. You define the architecture evolution of Storage and backup - Spectrum protect / HPE Disk array and Brocade SAN switches -for an internal customer. Duties and Responsibilities Manage backup & Storage environment including patch management and upgrades. Follow security & compliance AZ standards. Work closely with project managers and technical teams for planned system upgrades, server roll out, application upgrades, changes, releases and run the business tasks. Provide specialist assistance and input to various key technical projects Maintenance and proactive monitoring of Storage & Backup Infrastructure across environments. Ensure Implementation processes and procedures are developed, implemented and followed for various activities with respect to Infrastructure Projects. Proper documentation of various implementation procedures for system upgrades before handing over the systems to the Operations team. Experience with interacting with customers, senior managers, and customers, to handle service inquiries and problems. Experience in Tunning & performance management Develop automation tools by writing/modifying scripts for deployment, maintenance and system monitoring using shell scripts, Python, and other scripting languages. Plan, document, review and maintain system administrations guidelines and policies. Update operations and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 personnel. Support operations across multiple geographic locations. Develop solutions to complex technical issues. Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for Root Cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives Qualification, Experience, Technical and Functional Skills Master’s Degree Prior Experience in Storage & backup Administration & Operation Working in L3 Roles in a global delivery team model Key Competencies Technical (Must Have) Spectrum Protect 7.x / 8.x Virtual Tape Library (EMC DD preferred) AWS Tape Gateway HPE disk array Brocade switches Performance Tuning Shell / Python scripting Assists others in resolving complex technical problems and investigating the root cause of problems and recommends smart (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely) solutions Provides deep specialist consultancy, guidance and support in their specific specialism. Works with other Technical Specialists / analysts as required and ensures any solution within their specific specialism fits with strategic and technical direction Technical Skills (Desirable) Cloud Knowledge& Culture Linux Redhat and/or IBM AIX is a plus Soft Skills Result Oriented & customer focus driven Good Market Insight & contribute towards driving change & Innovation Fostering Relationships with stakeholders, customers & peers Excellent communication skills (Verbal & Written) Excellent Team player, flexible and adaptable
