Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Providing support to internal clients Primary function is to extract grain samples from trucks and lorries with a double barrel probe. Extract grain & grain product samples from bags with a hand probe. Ensuring adherence to internal business processes, procedures and policies Assist with general tasks Assisting inspectors/assessors with the inspection procedures inspection of grain products. To assist the Inspectors/Assessor in drawing samples from loading grain products. The carrying of samples from trucks and lorries to the inspection room for analysing. Any other ad hoc functions under supervision of the Inspector/Assessor to assist him/her with their duties. Assist with calibrations: - place probes into fruit during COT shipments and other adhoc Cold Chain functions. See that the inspection room and other rooms which were used, and apparatus are cleaned after inspections. Job Requirements A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the PPECB as a Technical Assistant on the Grain sector Certificates in computer training would be advantageous Proven track record of taking ownership enabled by responsible and accountable behaviour A valid code 08 drivers licence and a car would be advantageous The Perishable Products Export Control Board (PPECB) is an independent service provider of quality certification and cold chain management services for South African producers and exporters of perishable food products.
