Closing Date: Wednesday February 25, 2026 or once 200 applications have been received.  Position: Technical Assistant  Department: City Manager’s Office – Economic Development Division  Salary:   Range: $22.26 – $25.77/hour  Non-Exempt – Overtime Eligible Part-time Position    JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides assistance in general administrative and technical functions for the Economic Development division within the City Manager’s Office. This role’s primary focus will be on Economic Development and will also provide direct support to The BLVD Association, including business engagement, meeting coordination, and communications support. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: * None EXAMPLE OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Provide the public with information regarding Economic Development projects and programs, including counter service, answering phones, and responding to e-mails. * Perform support functions for Economic Development projects and programs, such as small business assistance and outreach; shop local campaigns; business attract ion and retention efforts; workforce development initiatives; and marketing for these programs. * Conduct research for new and existing projects in the Economic Development division to help determine best practices. * Serve as a key liaison to local business owners and community stakeholders, maintaining positive and professional working relationships. * Assist with planning, preparing agendas, taking meeting notes, and attending public meetings and community-facing events. * Create and manage content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, including the development of reels and promotional media. * Support outreach efforts designed to strengthen connections between the City and local businesses. * Prepare written content for various communication platforms, including the City’s Outlook Magazine, newsletters distributed through Constant Contact, and social media. * Schedule meetings and provide calendar support for senior staff, including travel arrangements. * Process invoices and assist with basic budget administration for the Economic Development division. Perform clerical duties including typing, proofreading, editing, formatting, copying, and distributing a variety of documents from rough draft or verbal instruction. * Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing inter-office and U.S. Mail. * Establish and maintain positive working relationships with City staff and members of the public. The duties listed above are not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may also perform other related duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor. This position is considered non-exempt.
