1. Follow defined blood collection service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
   undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
2. External to the laboratory (sample collection) and Internal to the laboratory (specimen processing and data registration, transport
   basic testing, performance of preventative maintenance, quality control and loading of analysers).
3. Interpret pathology request forms to ensure appropriate specimens are safely collected for requested tests, understanding pre-
   analytical variables that can affect accuracy of test results, to ensure clinical utility of the reported result.
4. Ability to clearly communicate specimen requirements to patients, medical and nursing staff.
