Description

Computer Technology Services, incorporated in 1985, provides I.T. Consulting and staffing services to both public and private sector customers. For this role, we are looking for an experienced individual to support a “Big 4” organization. This is a full-time position working directly for CTS. This role does require occasional travel, and we will be evaluating candidates who live in Eastern and Central time zones only.
Overview: This is not a typical business analyst role. The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) will play a central role in bridging business processes with complex technical systems. The ideal candidate must understand business workflows, possess a strong technical mindset, and comprehend system architecture and integration across multiple subsystems and components. The analyst will contribute directly to technical solutioning, working with architects, developers, and operations teams to enable efficient and scalable systems integration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Analyst.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies, and business processes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, JIRA, MS Visio) and modeling languages (e.g., UML, BPMN).
  • Experience working with APIs, databases, and enterprise software platforms.
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation and user stories.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Must work with architects and possess a technical mindset.
  • Must understand sub systems and components.
  • NO 1099 or Sub-Contractors (must be a W2 employee)
  • No Sponsorships
  • Please do not apply if you are not a Technical Business Analyst

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps principles.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with sub systems and components to integrate platforms.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
  • Develop and present detailed reports.
  • Write clear technical specifications, for custom development, system integration and software solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Conduct gap analyses between current and desired business states.
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to design and validate technical solutions.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups (Agile/Scrum environments).
  • Assist in the development of test plans and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Create process models, workflow diagrams, data models, and technical documentation.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams throughout the SDLC.
