Technical Business Analyst Grade: 7/8 Salary range: $113,574-$125,720 + superannuation and leave loading Duration: permanent full-time role, ongoing Location: Hybrid with an in-office requirement 2 days a week. This may be subject to change in line with DCS workplace policies Bridge business needs and technical design by turning complex requirements into clear, secure and well‑governed solutions that shape how technology is delivered across government. As a Technical Business Analyst, you will work closely with architects, engineers, delivery teams and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. You will support analysis and delivery activities that enable well‑designed, secure and fit‑for‑purpose digital solutions. About the team This role sits within the Architecture team in the NSW Telco Authority. The Architecture & Governance function works at the intersection of business needs and technical design, supporting early‑stage discovery, solution shaping and governance assurance. The team ensures technology solutions align with architectural standards, strategic direction and organisational priorities. Your responsibilities will include Engaging stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document business and technical requirements Analysing systems, data and processes to identify issues, risks and improvement opportunities Developing functional requirements, user stories and analysis artefacts that support solution design and delivery Supporting testing, implementation and delivery activities to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements Working collaboratively with technical teams to align business needs with system and architectural constraints Operating within established security, governance and compliance frameworks For more information on the role and its accountabilities, click here to view the role description. To be successful in this role you will have Demonstrated experience or exposure in ICT business analysis and technical analysis Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders The ability to elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements Strong systems, data and process analysis skills within security and governance constraints The ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a delivery‑focused environment Nice to have Experience working in Agile delivery environments Exposure to integration, digital or enterprise platforms Government or public sector experience About NSW Telco Authority NSW Telco Authority (NSWTA) operates and manages the Public Safety Network to deliver radio communications for frontline responders.
