Role Overview:
Huntsman Advanced Materials is looking for a Technical Business Development Engineer composites to support our automotive team. The position is a full-time contract, based at our Advanced Materials European home based in a European country.
The primary responsibility of the role is to lead key account activities and opportunities for composite applications. The role is an exciting opportunity to drive the expansion of this market in line with business growth targets.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Technical Business Development Composites, you will be responsible for:
- Acting as the main technical point of contact for assigned accounts and prospects.
- Establishing and fostering strong commercial and technical relationships.
- Providing technical expertise on composite resins, promoting existing products, and developing product profiles for new applications.
- Supporting commercial tasks, including Key Account planning, RFQs, pricing, forecasting, and complaint resolution.
- Developing and executing account strategies, managing business operations, and analyzing sales potential.
- Working in cross-functional projects and teams, bringing the customer’s voice into the internal organization.
- Ensuring compliance with Huntsman’s safety and regulatory guidelines.
Experience and Competencies:
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical, composite process or material engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical function in the chemical industry, e.g. product development/formulation, technical service/support or application engineer related to composite materials (long fiber reinforced thermosets).
- Demonstrating a strong commercial mindset, e.g., respective qualifications or job experience in a commercial function like sales or key account management
- Experience and know-how acquired in thermoset formulation, processing and application
- Experience and know-how acquired in target applications (thermosetting composites) and access to target customers and partners (Automotive Tiers, OEMs. Machine suppliers and research centers) are major assets
- Strong communicator, able to distil complex information to short and precise reports
- Entrepreneurial, results driven and autonomous in the approach with strong organizational and negotiation skills with high degree of service and customer orientation
- Ready to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Fluent in English, German is a strong asset
