JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical role within the Oleochemicals or derivatives industry.
  • Commitment to a high level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others, as well as the ability to operate independently as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work with a vision toward continuous improvement.
  • This position is based in Singapore, with frequent business travel required to Indonesia.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Serving in a technical & new product development discipline, providing technical advice, proposed and support new project/product development to Company and subsidiary divisions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Technical Servicing

  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance on all product and process technical requirements.
  • Participate in regular cross-functional meetings to ensure that customer technical requirements are met on time.
  • Provide technical advice (e.g., product specifications, applications, quality) to customers, Sales, and the Supply Chain team.
  • Manage customer-specific and new product specification requests.
  • Answer customer technical questionnaires.

Manufacturing Technical Support

  • Provide technical support by working with manufacturing plants in cross-functional teams to assist with process and quality improvements, troubleshooting, and complaint resolution.
  • Ensure that technology and quality standards for new and revised formulas/specifications are successfully transferred into manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical expertise to the Engineering department to ensure new projects and plant modifications align with customer expectations and requirements.

Business Development

  • Supporting new business opportunities/assessment for currently marketed products as well as for new products framed in the oleochemical industry.
  • Participate in the process of analysis and evaluation of new investment projects.
