WE ARE SEEKING A PERSON WITH THE FOLLOWING SKILL SET AND COMPETENCIES:

· Grade 12 (OSSD) or equivalent education.
· Minimum 10 years experience in a CNC machining environment.
· Related trades certifications, courses or diploma from a recognized post-secondary school is a significant asset.
· Forklift and Crane experience considered an asset.
· Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
· Understanding of safe work procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it applies to J/E Bearing and Machine Ltd.
· Possess good time management skills, communication skills and problem solving skills.
· Willingness to learn new skills and accommodate requests.
· Availability to work overtime as business demands require.
· Perform physical labour when required.
· Must provide a clean criminal record check upon hire.

YOUR SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES WILL HELP YOU:

  1. Set-up and operation of various CNC Milling and turning centers.
  2. Working with FANUC-HAAS/Heidenhain/SIEMENS controllers.
  3. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
  4. Machine parts to tight tolerance and verify dimensions of parts using precision measuring instruments.
  5. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances; complete inspection records as required.
  6. Review machine set-up, programming, tooling for machining efficiency.
  7. Support the maintenance department to investigate and assist with machine breakdown repair, preventative maintenance which includes coolants, oil, guarding, and upgrading.
  8. Research and implement CNC machining related projects such as tooling and fixturing.
  9. Supervise the ordering process and review purchasing of the cutting tools.
  10. Oversee inventory of all cutting tools and fixtures associated with the jobs.
  11. Assist programming department with programming, optimizing, and tool lists.
  12. Provide technical advice and assistance to all machinists to ensure they learn best practices for machining and set ups.
  13. Participate in the company 5S activities.
  14. Attend employee meetings, production meetings and safety talks as required.
  15. Treat all J/E information and customer information in a confidential manner.
  16. Know and demonstrate safe working procedures in the shop environment.
  17. Responsible for the general housekeeping of working area ensuring that it is cleaned and organized at all times.
  18. Perform other work-related duties as assigned Machining Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager.
