JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Consultant, Solution Deployment, is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and support to our pharmacy automation clients. This role requires demonstrated expertise in implementing and maintaining systems within both hospital and retail pharmacy environments. You will be required to work with a multidisciplinary team so that our solutions can be implemented successfully.
Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)
- Participates in conference calls and customer meetings to ensure alignment and progress on project goals.
- Provides team support and shares product and technical expertise related to BD Medication Management Solutions.
- Manages customer stakeholder teams, facilitates consensus, and ensures clear, consistent communication.
- Builds and maintains strong customer relationships to support long-term business partnerships.
- Applies problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to consult on pharmacy best practices in medication management workflows.
- Demonstrates knowledge of pharmacy formulary builds and integration with hospital, retail, and long-term care pharmacy systems.
- Utilizes critical thinking to help customers enhance their business operations and workflows.
- Masters the features and functionalities of multiple BD applications.
- Delivers outstanding customer support tailored to individual client needs.
- Customizes product features to align with specific customer requirements.
- Maintains accurate documentation for customer projects, expenses, compliance, and reporting.
- Actively contributes to customer assessments, project design, and implementation of BD Medication Management Solutions.
- Completes internal documentation and project deliverables accurately and on time.
- Performs additional tasks as required to support business objectives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Programmer-Analyst College Degree or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support is required.
- Pharmacy automation experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in retail and/or hospital pharmacy support is strongly preferred.
- Experience in WEB technologies is preferred.
- Pharmacy informatics experience, an asset
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Fluency in both English and French (read, speak, write) to communicate with colleagues and customers across Canada is required.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages, among others: C ++, Python, PHP, PL / SQL is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Strong decision making, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Detail oriented, able to multi-task and implement complex projects consistent with established BD and customer objectives.
- Possess excellent organization and time management skills, with the flexibility to readily adapt to change.
Physical Demands: (if applicable)
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs as needed. This position may involve pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and lifting.
Work Environment: (if applicable)
- Field based, home office position.
- Located in Canada near an international airport, to facilitate travel.
- Travel up to 50% but may fluctuate based on project and team needs. The role requires travelling across Canada.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a past clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years, as well as meet BD’s auto safety standards.
- Attend training on assigned BD instruments as requested. Must be able to travel to the US for training purposes.
