Description
We’re looking for our next Technical Coordinator position Technical Coordinator provides support to the Vessel Managers and the Ship Management team  in all aspects of the technical maintenance and operational efficiency of Teekay vessels. This includes  routine technical administration, data entry, report compilation, budget preparation and reconciliation,  and coordination of technical services. The role ensures seamless communication between internal  teams, vendors, and vessels to maintain compliance, efficiency, and safety.   Some of the things you’ll be doing   Safety and compliance * Prioritize safety and environmental compliance in all tasks.  * Ensure that technical operations align with company policies and international regulations. Technical Support * Provide direct support to Vessel Managers on all technical aspects of vessel maintenance and  operation.  * Liaise with Fleet Operational Services regarding updated technical information, best practices, and  regulatory changes.  * Coordinate service attendances, technical support, and troubleshooting efforts for vessels.  * Ensure all surveys and certificates are up to date, in coordination with Vessel Managers. Repair & Maintenance Coordination  * Review repair specifications and liaise with service providers as directed by Vessel Managers.  * Arrange and monitor routine repairs, including requisitions for service engineers and technicians, as per vessel requests as directed by Vessel manager. * Process and verify service invoices from vendors through NS5 Enterprise/Jibe.  * Track ongoing maintenance work orders, service histories, and equipment under shore repair. Dry-docking and Technical Projects * Assist in preparing and maintaining the repair database and Dry-Dock Specifications.  * Support the review of repair specifications, yard tender analysis, and selection of shipyards.  * Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of dry-dock supplies and services.  * Assist Vessel Managers during dry-docking, ensuring project timelines and budgets are adhered to.  * Compile Dry Dock Repair reports and track modifications/upgrades on vessels.  * Maintain centralized records of all dry-docking activities, ensuring proper documentation and  accessibility. Port Handling & Husbandry Activities * Appoint and manage port agencies through DA-Desk, ensuring cost control and timely payments.  * Coordinate husbandry matters, including crew changes, provisions, spares, and other logistical  support.  * Review of Pro-forma, Final DA, and vendor invoices through DA-Desk. Technical Administration & Documentation * Manage and track vessel certificates, ensuring timely renewals and compliance.  * Review classification reports and distribute monthly technical reports to Vessel Managers and  vessels.  * Maintain and archive technical reports, service records, and maintenance histories.  * Manage vessel drawings, instruction manuals, and service bulletins, ensuring proper distribution to  ship teams and vessels.  * Monitor and review planned maintenance work orders within the PM system, ensuring timely  execution and compliance.  * Maintain records of capital modifications, upgrades, and technical projects.  * Provide backup support for the purchasing department in the absence of the Purchasing Lead as  designated by the Fleet Director/Fleet Manager. General Support & Additional Duties * Provide administrative and operational support to Vessel Managers as required. * Assist in continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and efficiency  enhancements. * Support emergency response situations when required, including providing after-hours support. * Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the Fleet Director/Fleet Manager.   What we are looking for  * Diploma in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related field.  * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity within the marine or ship management  industry.  * Strong understanding of vessel maintenance, repair, classification, and regulatory compliance. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.  * Effective time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.  * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and  external stakeholders.  * Ability to respond effectively to operational challenges and urgent technical issues.  * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).  * Experience with ship management software (e.g., NS5 Enterprise, Jibe) is a plus. * Ability to provide after-office hours support when required by business needs.  * Willingness to travel for dry-docking, inspections, or vessel visits when necessary   What you can expect in return * At Teekay you will find an engaged workplace alongside 8,000 professionals across the globe.
