Description
Let’s be honest for a second… You’ve probably seen a few “Delivery Manager” roles that quietly expect you to still be the smartest technical person in the room. This isn’t one of those. This is a people-first delivery leadership role, where your success comes from building and steering a high-performing team across development, SharePoint, and AI, aligning delivery with the business, and making sure work lands the way it’s meant to (without relying on late-night heroics). You’ll still understand the tech, but your real job is getting the best out of people, creating clarity, and keeping delivery moving forward when things inevitably get messy. About First Focus First Focus is Australia’s leading mid-market MSP, with over 15 years of consistent growth and a team of 360+ legends across Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. We’re known for doing things a little differently, less red tape, more trust; less politics, more progress. People here are informed, aligned, supported, and actually rewarded for doing great work. We take our values seriously, especially Win Together, because delivery only works when everyone’s pulling in the same direction. You’ll see what we mean pretty quickly: https://www.firstfocus.com.au/about-us/ Why this role is worth your time You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team (dev, SharePoint, AI), with a clear focus on performance, growth, and accountability You’ll have real influence over how delivery is done, not just tracked You’ll help shape AI initiatives that actually get used, not just talked about You’ll work closely with PMs and consultants to create alignment, not friction You’ll build a team culture where people know what good looks like, and actually hit it You’ll still stay close to the work, but you won’t be expected to be the deepest technical expert in the room You’ll lead a team that's big enough to matter, small enough to know everyone’s name What you’ll be doing Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of developers, SharePoint engineers, and AI specialists Creating clarity around priorities, expectations, and what “good delivery” actually looks like Running regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career planning (yes, the meaningful kind) Partnering with Project Managers, Consultants, and the PMO to keep delivery on track Translating high-level requirements into clear, actionable work for your team Managing capacity, resourcing, and priorities across multiple workstreams Identifying risks early and removing blockers before they become “urgent” Ensuring consistent delivery standards, documentation, and quality across outputs Supporting the translation of requirements into actionable work, without needing to do the work yourself Driving practical AI outcomes that integrate into real-world service delivery What you’ll bring 5+ years’ experience leading technical teams in a delivery-focused environment Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams (dev, platform, or similar) Strong operational and delivery management capability Experience working alongside PMs, consultants, and structured PMO environments Excellent communication skills, you can translate between tech, business, and humans A calm, pragmatic approach to problem solving (no drama, just solutions) Nice to have: MSP or services-based environment experience Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or SharePoint ecosystems Exposure to AI, automation, or workflow platforms Understanding of modern development and delivery practices (without needing to be hands-on) What success looks like A high-performing, engaged team that knows what’s expected and delivers consistently Projects delivered on time, to scope, without last-minute heroics Strong collaboration between consultants, PMs, and technical teams A team that’s engaged, accountable, and actually enjoys working together Clear visibility across delivery, risks, and capacity AI and platform initiatives that deliver practical value, not just good intentions Competitive salary package including $170,000 + other benefits Free access to Uprise, including 1:1 coaching with psychologists or counsellors Flexible working for real work-life balance “Never Stop Growing”: 10 paid study days per year, exam fees covered, pay rises for certs (conditions apply) Weekly internal training and a full learning library FastTrack mentoring program MAD (Making a Difference) Council for equality, charity, and environment initiatives Tesla company car option (yes, really, but conditions apply) Regular social events and a genuinely great team culture The important bit First Focus welcomes applications from Neurodiverse candidates. We recommend & appreciate disclosure along with the application so that a copy of our Neurodiversity Statement can be provided outlining the flexible options we can offer to best showcase your skills. Ready to apply? If you’re the kind of person who likes bringing order to complexity, building strong teams, and delivering work that actually lands, we’d love to hear from you.
