JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you ready to join a dynamic team as a Project Installation Technician at our department Operations Installation & Implementation (OPS I&I)? Look no further! We are seeking individuals who are passionate about working on customer installation and delivering exceptional service. We are looking for a hands-on, technically skilled colleague to join our Technical Installation team.
You will perform work at all Equinix data centers in the Netherlands.
Our stakeholders are Technical Deployment Management (TDM) / IBX. We encourage applications from various sectors.
As a Project Installation Technician, you will need the ability to utilise skills to seamlessly transition between hands-on work and administrative tasks. Experience in delivering excellent customer service is a huge bonus, as our customers, both internal and external, are of utmost importance to us. We want them to be important to you too!

  1. Project Support:
  • Performing technical deployment, mostly customers
  • (De)installing customer installations
  1. Technical Knowledge Development:
  • Follow detailed information from TDM to provide solutions for customers/internal projects
  1. Implementation and Delivery:
  • Assist in the planning, development, and delivery of customer implementations under close supervision
  1. Process Support and Optimization:
  • Learn and adhere to business and technical processes within the Data Center identifying opportunities for improvement in basic processes.
  1. Systems and Data Support:
  • Develop knowledge of Equinix business systems and ensure accurate input of provisioning data.

Your Profile You have demonstrable experience in installation technology

  • Technical MBO diploma (e.g., Installation Engineering, Engineering, Mechatronics) is preferred
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You are solution-oriented, disciplined, and able to prioritize customer needs
  • You are flexible and have a lot of passion, energy, and drive
  • Familiarity with project management concepts is a plus.
  • Has experience with hardware installation and strong technical knowledge
  • Is comfortable with basic mechanical repairs and troubleshooting small issues on-site
  • Can read and execute Scope of Work documents, and work efficiently based on ticketing systems
  • Is solution-oriented and flexible, able to adapt to a dynamic work environment with frequent urgent requests from clients
  • Understands and applies safe working practices
  • Is a team player, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different department
Responsibilities
  • Installing and testing network cabling, both UTP and fiber optic
  • Placing racks
  • “Racking & Stacking” (Installing customers equipment in racks)
  • Executing installations of rack PDUs (Power Distribution Units)
  • Performing and supervising technical work within the data center
  • Quality control of completed work, delivered by internal and external teams
  • Working according to procedures and monitoring compliance
  • Support reinstall customer projects as needed.
  • Creating, maintaining, and providing weekly and monthly status reports
