Description

Warby Parker is searching for a Technical Design Coordinator to support the creation of our glasses, from initial drawing review to assessing our physical prototypes. As a key member of our Product Development team, you’ll work closely with our in-house Design team and overseas manufacturers to ensure that our end result is both production-friendly and consistently achieved in bulk. Our ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a strong eye for detail who can stay on top of multiple seasons at once while ensuring the fit, construction, and quality of our glasses are perfect across the board! Sound up your alley? Read on!

ABOUT US:

Warby Parker was founded with a mission: to inspire and impact the world with vision, purpose, and style.
We’re constantly asking ourselves how we can do more and make a greater impact, and that starts by reimagining everything that a company and industry can be. We want to demonstrate that a business can scale while doing good in the world, without charging a premium for it. And we’ve learned that it takes creativity, empathy, and innovation to achieve that goal.
Since the day we launched in 2010, we’ve pioneered ideas, designed products, and developed technologies that help people see. We offer everything you need for happier eyes at a price that leaves you with money in your pocket, from designer-quality glasses and contacts to eye exams and vision tests, and you can meet us online, at our stores, or even in your home. Wherever and whenever you need it, we’re there to make exceptional vision care simple and accessible. (Delightful, too.)
Ultimately, we believe in vision for all, which is why for every pair of glasses or sunglasses we sell, a pair of glasses is distributed to someone in need through our Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program

Responsibilities
  • Support prototype requests with accurate specification packages, inclusive of technical file creation and Bill of Materials for all components and colors in our Product Lifecycle Management System
  • Prepare files for drawing review with the Technical Designer and Design teams, highlight where requested specs were not achieved and why, and incorporate vendor feedback
  • Measure initial prototypes for Technical Designer review and notate inconsistencies for further examination ahead of Design meetings
  • Collaborate with the Product Development team on the tracking and maintenance of products throughout prototype and bulk milestones, including change management in PLM and assigning the appropriate product stage gate
  • Own final Bill of Materials in PLM, reflecting all assorted details, colors, and finishes
