POSITION OVERVIEW:

A leading wholesale manufacturer of branded and licensed children’s apparel is seeking a Technical Designer to join their NYC team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring high standards of quality, consistency, and fit across all product categories. You’ll play a key role in the product development process, collaborating closely with Design, Production, and Compliance teams to deliver exceptional children’s apparel to market.

• Collaborate with Design and Production to define and uphold brand-specific fit and construction standards
• Create detailed spec packages for each style, including grade rules and custom construction details
• Accurately measure and evaluate development and proto samples for fit, quality, and workmanship
• Lead fit sessions and provide clear, actionable feedback to internal teams and overseas vendors
• Communicate construction and measurement comments, including diagrams or pattern guidance when needed
• Support Compliance and Production teams to ensure all products meet children’s safety regulations
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding fit, spec, and construction issues in a timely manner
