Role description: We are seeking a highly accomplished Technical Director to lead delivery with a strong focus on heavy civil infrastructure projects. The role will partner closely with Global teams to drive end-to-end project delivery, technical excellence, and business growth, leveraging deep experience in design, construction management, and client engagement. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience leading large-scale, multidisciplinary programs and demonstrate the ability to manage complex infrastructure projects from feasibility through construction support. The ideal candidate should have work experience as design manager and technical lead delivering Concept Design, Alternative Technical Concepts and Detailed Design of Design & Build projects globally. The candidate needs to be able to operate in the project environment to support professional leadership at a technical level, supporting the development of Arcadis capability in the discipline and building and maintaining a professional reputation as an individual and for Arcadis. The role is needed to deliver to all expectations of a project viz. quality, time, budget and value addition.  Role accountabilities: 1. Supporting Pursuits: 1. Assist the project and pursuit teams in evaluating pursuit opportunities and contributing insights on capacity and capability. 2. Collaborate with the pursuits team and cross-functional teams to create compelling proposals and presentations for pursuing projects. 3. Develop alternative design concepts and optimizations to reduce construction cost and optimize schedule. 2. Project Delivery:  1. Leading Design Build multi-disciplinary projects for in Arcadis at Global Level including complex interdependencies of other disciplines and good communication across Lead offices and all disciplines. 2. Leads design risk identification. Contributes to risk management by proactively seeking to mitigate risks with the client and the project team. 3. Actively contributes to and promotes health and safety (H&S) in the projects by implementing and monitoring H&S practices and providing necessary training. 4. Oversee competence and quality through a robust Quality Management System, ensuring the timely submission of deliverables with client satisfaction. 3. Resource Acquisition Support: 1. Assist in identifying resource needs for pursuit projects and contribute to strategic resource acquisition plans. 2. Support in coordinating with other departments or external partners to acquire necessary resources. 4. Knowledge Transfer Assistance: 1. Support initiatives for knowledge transfer from bid team to delivery team, aiding in the documentation and sharing of best practices. 2. Collaborate with team leads to ensure insights from past pursuits are effectively communicated and applied. 5. Team Mentor:  1. Ensure the development of the regional-focused team to develop and grow according to the market needs both in terms of Capacity and Capability thereby setting the growth targets.  2. Developing high competencies in comprehensive project reviews, forecasting, and resource management, collaborating closely with regional leads to capture project needs, timelines, required skills, and the number of resources needed.  3. Actively liaise with project managers and regional offices, to connect with senior leadership, develop growth roadmaps, and drive continuous improvements. Qualifications & Experience: * Master’s degree in civil engineering  * Minimum 15+ years of experience in Infrastructure Design Consulting industry.  * Minimum of 10 years of working experience for International Multi-disciplinary Projects  * Proficient in written communication and capable of contributing to project communications. * Strong organizational and coordination skills along with strategic decision-making.  * Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse disciplines and support resource acquisition. * Professional Engineer (PE License) is desirable.  * Cultural awareness and an open mind are essential requirements for the role. * Role modeling Arcadis Values and Principles, especially Health & Safety stewardship. * Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and the ability to apply the Quality Management principles while delivering large-scale projects from the GECs. * Ability to travel to global offices, few times a year to collaborate with project teams and clients.
