Job Description Egis is building its data centre capability across the UAE and wider MESA region. We are seeking a Technical Director to lead the technical direction of that emerging practice - setting standards, leading major bids, and acting as our senior technical authority on mission-critical work. Reporting to the Regional Director - MEP, this is a leadership role with real scope to shape a practice from the ground up, backed by the reach and resources of a global consultancy. What You'll Do Provide technical leadership and sign-off authority across all data centre projects in the region Define and maintain MEP/ELV design standards and delivery frameworks for mission-critical work Lead technical input on major bids and proposals across the MESA region Build and mentor a specialist data centre team within a 400+ strong MEP/ELV practice Engage with clients, hyperscalers, EPCs, and authorities at Director level Drive innovation across BIM, parametric design, and AI-assisted workflows Represent Egis externally as the data centre practice establishes its market presence Qualifications 15+ years of MEP engineering experience with a significant portion in data centre or mission-critical environments Demonstrable experience at Technical Director, Associate Director, or equivalent level Deep expertise across data centre MEP/ELV systems: HV/LV, generators, UPS, precision cooling, EPMS, DCIM, and ICT infrastructure Familiarity with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and EN 50600 requirements Strong commercial awareness across fee negotiation, scope definition, and risk management Degree-qualified with Chartered Engineer status (CEng or regional equivalent) required GCC experience preferred; UAE track record a strong advantage Additional Information 400+ strong, award-winning MEP/ELV team across UAE, KSA, India, Jordan, and Egypt Live and growing pipeline of hyperscale and mission-critical opportunities across the region Platform to build a specialist data centre practice from the ground up Backed by the depth and reach of a global consultancy Competitive Director-level package and UAE benefits Business Line: Energy and Sustainable Cities Type of contract: Permanent contract Service Line: Buildings Region: Middle East and South Asia Job Family: Engineering Management
