TECHNICAL DIRECTOR (IT DIRECTOR)

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location: Springfield, MO
Position Summary: The Technical Director leads Vecino Group’s IT and technology strategy, ensuring our infrastructure, applications, and data platforms support business objectives and fuel operational excellence. As a key member of the Data Operations team, this role partners with cross-functional leaders to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions.
This role will initially oversee external providers and/or internal resources with the goal of building an in-house team over the next 6-12 months.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years in IT leadership roles, with proven success managing infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity.
• Technical Skills: Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization, networking, security frameworks, and enterprise application stacks. o A list of technical areas of expertise required for success in this role is attached.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead crossfunctional teams, drive change, and influence executive stakeholders.
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strategic thinking, problemsolving, and vendor negotiation skills. Ability to lead technical conversations with nontechnical audiences.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Hypervisor & Windows Server Migration: VMware to HyperV, Proxmox, etc; Entra ID/AD & fileserver upgrades/migration.
• Microsoft 365 & Entra ID Administration: tenant governance, Conditional Access, MFA, security and storage insights.
• Network & Security Appliances: Fortinet/Sophos XG, pfSense+, VLAN segmentation, IPS/IDS.
• Backup & DR: Cloud and Onpremises strategy: Veeam Backup, Synology Active Backup for Business, RTO/RPO reporting.
• Security Frameworks & Documentation
• Remote Support: expertise with unattended/attended access tools (ConnectWise, ScreenConnect, Helpwire, etc).
