Shape the Future of Energy. Middleton Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Director to join our team. As a recognised expert in your field, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our sustainable business by leading projects and delivering high-quality technical solutions. ​ You will be responsible for ensuring the technical quality of all design deliverables, meeting client expectations for accuracy, usability, schedule, and cost. ​ As a technical leader, you will contribute to staff development, engagement, and retention, while supporting market development and work-winning activities aligned with our strategic goals. ​ Key Responsibilities: Capability Development: Facilitate access to job opportunities and training programs for team members. ​ Collaborate with team leaders to ensure continuous skill development and alignment with industry trends. ​ Work Winning Support: Lead proposal creation and engage with networks to secure new opportunities. ​ Develop strategies for business growth and client engagement. ​ Recruitment & Retention: Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering their growth and aligning their development with team goals. ​ Engineering & Design Delivery: Lead design projects to meet client and internal objectives, ensuring quality control of technical outputs. ​ Implement engineering standards, best practices, and sustainable design solutions. ​ Technical Leadership: Advance project design and management principles, demonstrating cross-disciplinary technical knowledge, creativity, and innovation. ​ Collaboration & Communication: Build strong relationships across project teams, manage complex engineering programs, and effectively communicate with stakeholders. ​ Qualifications & Experience: ​ Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent. ​ Substantial substation design experience (15+ years). ​ Proven expertise in managing complex engineering projects and stakeholders. ​ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively. ​ Demonstrated ability to lead teams, foster collaboration, and drive innovation. ​ Why Join Fyfe | Middleton Group Lead one of Australia's most forward-looking Power & Electrification teams.
