Job Description Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Technical Director – Structural Engineering to join our Melbourne team in a key strategic leadership position. This role will lead the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary projects across a variety of sectors, driving technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the structural business, fostering strong client relationships, and empowering a high-performing team to deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients. How you’ll make a difference: Lead the execution of the sector-specific strategy, driving profitable growth through pursuit leadership, client engagement and market differentiation across multi-disciplinary projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners and stakeholders, promoting AECOM’s capability and technical excellence across the market. Provide project and people leadership, direction and support to the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, succession planning and a focus on wellbeing, inclusion and professional development. Ensure delivery excellence and governance across all projects, maintaining AECOM’s high standards of quality, safety, digital innovation and client satisfaction. Champion collaboration and operational efficiency by leveraging enterprise workshare, implementing change initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. The qualities that help you thrive: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with, ideally, more than 18 years of relevant experience in Structural Engineering. Successful track record in delivering multi-disciplinary major projects across a variety of market sectors, with substantial people and project leadership experience. Proven team leadership and people management skills across the diverse and large teams. Proven ability to manage complex projects from concept to delivery, ensuring technical excellence, quality outcomes, and client satisfaction. Strong leadership and communication skills, with demonstrated success in guiding and developing high-performing teams and building enduring client relationships.
