Description
Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and BIM technicians on complex projects in Canada and the US, ensuring effective coordination across all relevant disciplines. Provide technical oversight and sign-off for rail and highway bridge, utility structures designs, in full compliance with Canadian and US codes and client requirements. Oversee the complete project lifecycle, from concept and optioneering through detailed engineering, construction support, and close-out. Drive innovation, digital transformation, and best practice in all aspects of structural engineering and BIM workflows. Champion the integration of advanced digital design tools and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence. Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, including guidance towards professional accreditation (P.Eng., PE). Advanced expertise in North American standards (CSA, NBC, AASHTO, AREMA, ACI) for bridge and rail structure design; knowledge of UK/Eurocode standards is an asset. Proficiency in structural design software such as MIDAS, STAAD.Pro, ROBOT, LUSAS, SOFiSTiK, LEAP Bridge, RAM Connection, and BIM platforms (Revit, MicroStation, ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud). Strong track record in the design and assessment of steel, concrete, prestressed, and composite bridges, including load rating and preparation of technical reports and drawings for Canadian and US projects. Demonstrated leadership in delivering multidisciplinary rail infrastructure projects in Canada and the US. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences. Proven experience managing and implementing BIM/Digital workflows through all project phases and keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies. Commercial acumen and experience in developing business opportunities and client relationships within North America. Bachelor's degree (BE) in Civil Engineering with a Master's degree (M.Tech) in Structural Engineering. Chartered Engineer status (or actively pursuing professional accreditation) with a recognized body in the US (PE), Canada (P.Eng. ), or equivalent regions. Experience working towards or holding CEng (UK) is a plus Work closely with clients and regional leads to define project scope, set expectations, and ensure successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects. Provide expert advice and alternative solutions, leveraging deep knowledge of North American standards and practices. Ensure all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality, implementing robust QA/QC procedures aligned with GEC BMS and North American best practices. Manage project risks and resolve issues proactively to ensure project success.
