Job Title: Temporary Document Control Specialist
Location: Waltham, MA (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months

Hourly Pay Rate: $35 - $45/hr
Work Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM

JOB SUMMARY:

A manufacturing company in Waltham, MA is seeking a Temporary Document Control Specialist to support its preproduction manufacturing team by documenting work instructions for the build and repair processes. This role is critical in ensuring that manufacturing processes are clearly defined, standardized, and easily accessible for production teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in document control, technical writing, and/or manufacturing process documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in document control, technical writing, or manufacturing process documentation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing workflows, preferably in robotics, aerospace, automotive, or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and document control software.
  • Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to translate complex technical processes into clear, concise instructions.
  • Advanced skills in using Confluence (or similar platforms such as Notion, Coda, or Slab) for documentation management.
  • Extensive experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Scribe, Trainual, Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard, including course creation, content management, and user progress tracking.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (e.g., Tulip, Opcenter, Enovia) is a plus.
  • Experience in a production or engineering-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality standards (ISO, AS9100, etc.).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, organize, and maintain detailed work instructions for build and repair processes.
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and assembly teams to accurately capture and document manufacturing and repair procedures, best practices, and quality standards.
  • Standardize document formats to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Manage document version control, updates, and storage within the document management system (DMS).
  • Support audits and compliance efforts by maintaining proper documentation control.
  • Assist in training build and repair team members on document access and usage.
  • Identify gaps in existing documentation and proactively collaborate with stakeholders to address them.
