A market leader in the container customization and rental market, based in the Western Cape, is looking for a dynamic individual to join their team as Technical Draftsman. The successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of technical standards and specifications, and key responsibilities will include creating accurate and detailed technical design drawings used for manufacturing (using CAD programs), construction and/or installation of projects and preparation of cost estimates for projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· National Certificate / Diploma in Technical Drawing / CAD / Mechanical Design, or similar.
· At least 3 - 5 year’s experience in the relevant field.
· Experience and proficiency with CAD programs.
· Knowledge of ISO drawing standards.
· Strong spatial and technical insight.
· Accurate and attentive work style.
· Excellent communicator and motivator with the ability to communicate across all levels.
· Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (write and speak).

· Create and modify 2D and/or 3D drawings using relevant software.
· Work with clients to understand and translate design requirements into drawings.
· Ensure that all drawings comply with applicable industry standards and internal guidelines.
· Maintain version control records on all drawings and documentation.
· Contribute to project planning and documentation as required.
· Complete tasks within established deadlines without compromising accuracy.
· Prepare cost analysis based on technical drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and labour involved.
· Prepare bills of quantities.
· Prepare client quotations.
· Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenses.
· Monitor and tracks project progress and is responsible for measuring and valuing variations in work during the project.
· Work as part of a team to ensure that client requirements are met.
· Perform monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting final costs and sales.
· Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with business requirements.
· Monitor all information relating to the project, including labor, material and other cost forecasts, to ensure that budgets are met.
· Provide all relevant information to Management Members for review at the specified intervals.
· Assist the relevant Management Members with a range of other duties as may be required from time to time.
