QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Pipeline, or Energy-related disciplines) OR a diploma in Engineering Technology, Estimation, or Industrial Design.
  • Equivalent professional experience in estimating, technical analysis, or inside sales engineering will be considered.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
  • Background in industrial products, energy, construction, steel, or manufacturing sectors is an asset.
  • Strong ability to read and analyze technical specifications and drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical document preparation.
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with both technical and commercial teams.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to technical and commercial requirements in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

The Technical Estimator (Inside Sales Engineer) is responsible for being as precise, rigorous, and technical as possible. This means extreme attention to detail, discipline in reviewing complex specifications, and quick, accurate calculations to ensure the company’s proposals are technically sound and competitive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret client specifications, drawings, and technical documents in detail.
  • Ensure extreme precision and rigor in all technical inputs and calculations.
  • Build and maintain quotation spreadsheets and cost breakdowns with high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Analyst to align technical solutions with market strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, codes, and industry standards.
  • Identify risks or discrepancies in technical specifications.
  • Provide fast, accurate calculations and documentation to keep the quoting process on schedule.
