Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Furniture Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of furniture construction, millwork, and/or upholstery. This role requires proficiency in Solid Edge software for detailed design work, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones. The specialist will work closely with project managers, CAD designers, and manufacturers to ensure the accurate development of custom furniture pieces that meet the high standards expected in luxury hospitality environments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Design or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in technical furniture design, construction, and millwork
- Strong proficiency in Solid Edge or similar CAD software for 3D modeling and technical drawing.
- Familiarity with upholstery techniques and materials (preferred).
- Experience working in the luxury hospitality sector is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to solve complex design and construction problems.
- Strong communication skills – verbal, written, and design articulation.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Accustomed to working in fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environments.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities:
- Utilize Solid Edge software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of custom furniture pieces.
- Work closely with the project management and manufacturing teams to ensure technical feasibility of furniture designs.
- Supporting quoting with technical specifications.
- Producing clear and accurate design documentation to communicate design intent to our clients and project team.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are translated into high-quality products.
- Communicate effectively with teams across various time zones, ensuring timely and accurate project development.
- Review material specifications, production processes, and construction techniques to maintain quality and cost efficiency.
- Address any technical issues or challenges that arise during the design, prototyping, or manufacturing stages.
- Assist in managing project timelines and ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Generate deficiency reports and any other requested by the VP of Operations.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
