YOUR ROLE, YOUR IMPACT

As a Technical Graduate, you will contribute to the delivery of FirstPort’s building performance framework. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring buildings operate as designed, stay compliant, and meet future sustainability and energy goals. You’ll develop technical and analytical expertise across critical building systems including BMS, HVAC, fire safety and smart infrastructure.
This role reports to the Technical Manager – Energy and is part of a central technical team supporting operational excellence across the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the tactical delivery of FirstPort’s building performance strategy.
  • Monitor building systems (BMS, HVAC, Fire) to identify deviations from design and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a super user of our smart analytics platform—monitor alerts, triage issues, and help shape system functionality.
  • Conduct deep-dive audits on critical systems to identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Ensure thermal comfort standards are achieved and identify design-performance gaps.
  • Act as gatekeeper of Design for Operations (DESOPS) standards and maintain the change control process.
  • Support non-technical operational teams in evaluating third-party recommendations.
  • Deliver site-based building performance training and raise awareness of benchmarking tools.
  • Champion smart buildings, energy innovation and sustainable infrastructure initiatives.
  • Monitor energy consumption data, assess quality, and drive remedial actions.
  • Act as a sustainability framework champion within the engineering domain.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Procurement, and Legal to support end-to-end building performance outcomes.
  • Any other duties required by your Line Manager.

By joining us as a Technical Graduate, you will play a pivotal role in achieving our vision:

  • Impactful Work: You will directly support FirstPort’s mission to elevate industry standards and provide an exceptional service to our customers.
  • Professional Growth: With access to accredited training and development programmes, you will be empowered to reach your potential.
  • Supportive Environment: We foster a culture where collaboration and innovation thrive, ensuring you feel valued and supported every step of the way.
  • A Future of Opportunity: Be part of a forward-thinking organisation that is shaping the future of residential property management in the UK
