Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A TECHNICAL INFORMATION MANAGER

As a Technical Information Manager, you’ll lead a team responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of our asset information. You’ll ensure that key documents and drawings are accurate and accessible, support internal and external stakeholders with essential data, and drive innovation in how we manage and share information.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Leading data management activities for key site documents and drawings.
  • Providing asset information services to internal users and external stakeholders, including our legal obligation for map provision.
  • Managing and developing the Work & Asset Information SharePoint site.
  • Driving improvements in data quality and business value through process and model enhancements.
  • Overseeing asset information systems such as Asset Doc, SharePoint and the engineering archives. (Scan Doc, and Eng Doc)
  • Planning and prioritising team workload, mentoring analysts, and supporting their development.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and performance.
  • Implementing technical and business developments to support strategic goals.
  • Leading your team to meet objectives, improve engagement, and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
  • This role is hybrid with 2 days a week based in Reading, RG1 8DB. There will be occasional travel required to meet stakeholders based at different sites.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE

We’re looking for someone with a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a passion for data quality. You should be confident managing both people and processes, and comfortable working across multiple systems and stakeholder groups.

This role involves significant engagement with our digital transformation programmes and offers the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, driving improvements that shape the way the team operates.

  • Competitive salary up to £57,000 per annum.
