Job Title: Technical Lead, Cloud Solutions
Location: G3 Head Office, Winnipeg MB (On site)
Reporting to the Senior Manager Technology Development, the Cloud Solutions Technical Lead will guide the strategy and adoption of cloud capabilities at G3. Taking a hands-on approach, the Technical Lead will partner with the Technical Development & Data Innovation team to design, develop, deliver, and support cloud-based solutions that align with business strategies.
Leveraging expertise in Microsoft Azure, the Technical Lead will ensure that new and existing cloud components are deployed in a secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for building, managing, and supporting G3’s Microsoft Azure cloud environment. Manage the work backlog and implementation of cloud-based changes
• Interact with Technical Leads of other technologies, Architects and Senior Developers on designing solutions
• Configure and implement new Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) features and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for project and services teams
• Lead the implementation of Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics and Data Catalog
• Monitor and steward key performance indicators for the Azure cloud environment (e.g. cost, utilization, performance, etc.)
• Provide engineering guidance and assistance to troubleshoot and resolve technical cloud issues
• Create and maintain roadmaps for the adoption of cloud services
• Lead and facilitate the creation of fit for purpose cloud governance policies
• Enhance existing Azure DevOps tools and processes to automate processes and stream-line work
• Evaluate new cloud offerings from a cost / benefit perspective
• Automate coding using typical Azure approaches such as ARM templates and Power Shell scripting
• Partner with G3 service providers and vendors to ensure service level agreements and contracts are aligned with business needs.
• Assist the agile development teams in building and tuning Azure react web applications
• Maintain G3 Azure environment in compliance with G3 Cyber Security best practices
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, computer science, or related field is preferred.
• Microsoft Azure Certifications would be an asset
• 4+ years experience designing, implementing, and supporting an Azure cloud environment including Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service offerings (Azure AD, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, etc.)
• 3+ years experience with web application development, DevOps, and cloud automation scripting. Working knowledge of code management processes.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (IP subnetting, firewalls, Network Security Groups) and connectivity with on-premise networks using Express Route
• Understanding of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and cloud databases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Broad knowledge of cloud industry trends and emerging technologies
