Description
Who We Are At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities. The Role Infrastructure Specialist at Kyndryl Kyndryl’s Infrastructure Specialists are project-based experts across the full spectrum of infrastructure domains. They excel at delivering analysis, documenting and diagramming work for handovers, providing timely solutions, and generally “figuring out what needs to be done.” This is a hands-on role where the ability to sense the interaction between systems and their environments is critical to every customer. This role has two key dimensions. First, you’ll be involved in current projects—analyzing technical issues, proposing solutions, testing, modifying, automating, and integrating systems. Second, you’ll contribute to long-term strategic planning for IT infrastructure and operations. Because this role is not limited to a specific platform, a broad and deep understanding of multiple platforms is essential. In return, Kyndryl offers diverse experiences and growth opportunities that are hard to find elsewhere. You’ll be engaged from the early stages of projects, helping to assess feasibility, identify technical and timeline risks, and deliver solutions. This means addressing both customer expectations and internal challenges—creating many opportunities to make a visible impact. In fact, one of the most common signs of success for an Infrastructure Specialist at Kyndryl is when clients return and specifically request to work with the same person again. That’s the kind of influence you can have. This is a project-based role where you’ll be deeply involved throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with architects, engineers, and project managers. Regardless of your current technical level or career direction, you’ll find opportunities that suit you—and teammates who support your growth. Think it might get boring? Trust us—it won’t. Your Future at Kyndryl In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to earn certifications and qualifications through your work, and continue growing as a cloud hyperscaler. Many of our Infrastructure Specialists go on to become Architects or Distinguished Engineers. No matter your skill level, there are paths for growth in every direction. Who You Are You and Your Mindset You are highly skilled in your work and have built the necessary experience to prove it. But just as important is your growth mindset—the drive to grow both personally and professionally. We’re looking for someone who puts the customer at the center of everything they do, prioritizing customer success in every task. Lastly, we value individuals who are open-minded, collaborative, and naturally inclusive when working with others. . Required Technical and Professional Experience Deep expertise in a specific technical domain (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) Experience with enterprise IT applications Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, system administration, or system architecture in the public cloud (AWS) Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems Proven experience in driving engineering solutions and collaborating across multiple teams Solid planning and execution skills with sound judgment to achieve goals Ability to apply general principles to specific challenges and derive conclusions and actions Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Strong experience in process improvement . Preferred Technical and Professional Experience In-depth knowledge of Amazon cloud hosting architecture (experience with AWS and Azure is a plus) Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities Familiarity with a wide range of IT concepts, practices, and procedures Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for creating precise technical plans, blueprints, schematics, and models Logical reasoning and analytical skills to evaluate the pros and cons of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail . Project-Specific Requirements Technical lead for a workflow system development team operating in Linux, AIX, and Windows environments Ability to perform technical reviews, quality checks, and progress management of team members’ work as a technical leader Communication with the customer managing overall progress and the current Kyndryl team leader Work is primarily conducted at the customer’s center in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture (partial remote work possible) Being You Diversity is a whole lot more than what we look like or where we come from, it’s how we think and who we are.
