Internal Role:
Title: Technical Lead / Manager – WordPress & CMS Engineering
Location: Hybrid – New Jersey (3x/week in-office)
Type: Full-Time (Open to Contractor for the Right Profile)

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with 3+ years in technical leadership or engineering management.
• Proven expertise managing large-scale WordPress-powered websites, including WordPress VIP, Gutenberg, and REST APIs.
• Strong hands-on skills in PHP (LAMP stack), JavaScript, Node.js, MySQL/Postgres.
• Experience with GraphQL, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and YAML.
• Solid understanding of system design, architecture patterns, security, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Knowledge of front-end performance optimization, SEO, caching, and deployment strategies.
• Experience with tools such as Yoast, Sailthru, and analytics/personalization plugins.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with high-traffic media or publishing platforms.
• Contributions to the WordPress open-source community or plugin development.
• Familiarity with CDNs (Akamai, Fastly).
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and cross-platform consistency.
