Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a skilled and mission-driven Technical Lead to oversee the design, development, and delivery of technical solutions for federal government programs. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, leadership in guiding engineering teams, and experience working within secure environments and structured government frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of federal IT systems, hold an active security clearance, and be comfortable interfacing with both technical staff and government stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • ️ Active security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or higher depending on program requirements)
  • 7+ years of technical experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or lead engineer role
  • Proficiency in relevant technologies (e.g., cloud platforms, endpoint management, cybersecurity, software development, systems integration)
  • ️ Experience supporting federal agencies such as DoD, DHS, VA, or civilian agencies
  • ✅ Familiarity with federal frameworks (e.g., RMF, FedRAMP, DoD STIGs, NIST 800-53)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to translate mission needs into technical solutions
Responsibilities
  • Lead technical planning and execution across one or more federal programs, ensuring alignment with agency requirements and mission objectives
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance to development, infrastructure, or cybersecurity teams
  • ️ Ensure compliance with federal security standards, including NIST, FISMA, and agency-specific policies
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, program managers, and subcontractors to define technical scope and deliverables
  • Oversee system architecture, integration, and modernization efforts, including cloud migration, DevSecOps, or endpoint management
  • Support technical documentation, risk assessments, and engineering reviews
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in secure software development, infrastructure, or systems engineering
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of technical milestones and contract deliverables
