About the Role We are looking for a Technical Lead to be instrumental in shaping our digital capability by fusing creativity with cutting edge technology and deliver game-changing brand experiences. You thrive in fast-paced environments, are confident in front of clients, and see digital products as dynamic tools that solve real business and customer problems. You lead with empathy, communicate with clarity, and inspire teams through your technical vision, innovative and collaborative mindset. You’re passionate about modern technology, including low maintenance SaaS, micro-services, API-first, & headless architecture. You let customer experience lead the tech, not the other way around. You’re happy to be on the tools, providing solution architecture or guiding the team. Your responsibilities include: Solution and project leadership – designing modern, commercially smart technical solutions that elevate our client projects Contributing to proposals, planning and documentation with clarity and creativity Ensuring best practice for performance, security and reliability Team leadership – mentoring and inspiring developers, fostering growth and technical excellence Building strong vendor and partnership relationships to deliver optimal experiences Business development and commerciality – representing Southpaw in pitches, proposals, and strategic conversations About you We are searching for someone with: A passion for digital innovation, emerging technology, AI and customer-centric design. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. A collaborative spirit, strategic thinker and ability to lead cross-functional teams. A proactive and commercial approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Proven experience in modern full-stack development. Expertise in micro-services and micro application architecture. Proficiency in Next.js, TypeScript, React, Tailwind, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Experience with CMS, headless, lightweight e-Commerce platforms (e.g. Dato, Shopify, Contentstack). Strong understanding of APIs, RESTful services, and web integrations. Familiarity with Netlify, Vercel, AWS and cloud platforms. Experience with Storybook and app development.
