Technical Lead – Digital Products Location: Northampton (Hybrid, 1 day in the office) Salary: Up to 55,000 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Our client is looking for a Technical Lead – Digital Products to provide technical leadership and assurance across key digital platforms. Working closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, and the Head of Digital Products & UX, this role ensures digital platforms are robust, reliable, and aligned with organisational goals. This is a strategic, oversight-focused role rather than hands-on coding, ideal for candidates who enjoy shaping platform quality, influencing delivery, and working at the intersection of technology, product, and user experience. Key Responsibilities Provide technical guidance across digital platforms, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, accessible, and reliable Act as a trusted technical partner to Product Managers and Product Owners, supporting product delivery and prioritisation Support the Head of Digital Products & UX as a key technical advisor Manage external suppliers and digital agencies, ensuring high-quality delivery Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks and dependencies across products Use data, analytics, and user feedback to drive continuous improvement Maintain technical standards, documentation, and ways of working Required Experience Experience in technical oversight or assurance for digital platforms Strong understanding of digital architectures, CMS, and third-party delivery models Experience working in product-led or agile environments Familiarity with Drupal CMS and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Experience managing external suppliers or agencies Knowledge of accessibility, performance, and security best practices Skills & Attributes Able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Comfortable working at the intersection of product, UX, and technology Strong judgement, problem-solving, and risk awareness Highly collaborative, organised, and influential without direct authority Enjoys mentoring, guiding teams, and enabling others to succeed This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded digital professional who wants to step away from hands-on delivery and into a platform leadership role, influencing strategy and supporting product excellence in a dynamic, product-driven environment.
