To learn more visit: www.syngenta.com Job Description Position Overview The Technical Lead for the Commercial Digital Technologies team is a senior technical leader who combines deep domain expertise with strong leadership, mentorship, and problem-solving skills. This role is pivotal in driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions within the Commercial Digital Technologies team ecosystem. Technical Lead leverages extensive knowledge of software engineering principles and design patterns to provide guidance to the engineering team, shaping architectural decisions and influencing the overall technical direction. Acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, they collaborate across cross-functional product and platform teams to implement robust, scalable, and secure architectures that align with Syngenta’s business goals. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture Drive architectural decisions along with the EM and provide technical leadership to ensure excellence across the product. Shape the direction of the product and platform, ensuring alignment with business goals, industry best practices, and security standards. Evaluate and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable architectures using Microservices and cloud-native patterns. Proactively identify and resolve technical debt or architectural issues that hinder performance or progress. Hands-On Technical Contribution Contribute to the product codebase to maintain close relationship with code and deployment processes Exemplify best practices for coding standards, design patterns, and code reviews Identify and close gaps in the team's developer experience Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, coding standards, architectural patterns, and deployment processes Drive technical excellence within Agile/Scrum frameworks, actively participating in sprint planning, technical grooming, and ensuring the team maintains a high velocity without sacrificing quality. Product Ownership Develop deep understanding of the product's business rules, user value, and overall vision Maintain close partnership with Product Managers and Business Stakeholders on product roadmap alignment Proactively monitor product performance, reliability, security, and user interaction patterns using appropriate tools Use metrics and reports to ensure architecture is performant, scalable, and stable Identify high-value opportunities and keep the team focused on technical delivery of these priorities Continuously seek ways to improve team performance and product quality, regardless of current state Team Building & Development Onboard new team members efficiently with defined processes Provide guidance and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering professional growth and a product-oriented mindset Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement Act on opportunities to improve performance and user experience identified through monitoring tools Maintain constant focus on improving quality, planning, delivery, communication, technical implementations, and technical debt management Maintain discipline around budget, investment, resource allocation, quality, metrics and KPIs, risk and change management Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 7-10 years of software engineering experience including 3+ years as lead/senior software engineer(Preferred -Full Stack) Deep expertise in Java and /or Python for backend development, and React for frontend implementations along with extensive experience with AWS infrastructure and a strong understanding of Microservices architecture, design patterns, and best practices Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve intricate technical issues and system bottlenecks Additional Information What We Offer We believe great work happens when people feel supported, valued, and inspired.
