Description
Assist Global Chief Engineer & Casting management in the identification, resolution & presentation of department technical strategies, objectives, mission & values. Provide technical support to global teams. Analyze designs during the development process & address any potential failures & errors. Guide & oversee training, mentoring & provide consulting to department engineers, supervisors & other interfacing functions. Support Campaign Prevent for Structural Casting systems. Support CCRG for any Structural Casting matters. Provide technical advice to ASO, OGC & Design Analysis for any Structural Casting issue. Guide development of Structural Casting module system tools, methods & processes for improved Product Development cycles applying castings. Ability to share & present work to cross-functional teams and executive leadership. Ability to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders including program teams, purchasing, manufacturing, STA & suppliers. Bachelor's degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering discipline. 10+ years' experience in automotive engineering leadership position (or like industry), including direct team leadership responsibility. 5+ years engineering experience with high pressure die casting design and manufacturing processes including the secondary operations associated with castings, including, but not limited to trimming, straightening, and quality checks. 5+ years engineering experience with alloys, especially those used for structural castings and advanced light weighting materials and associate joining technologies. 5+ years engineering experience leveraging CAE to guide efficient and robust design and system execution. 5+ years engineering experience in the creation and application of DFMEAs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Standards, Requirements & Specifications.
