Description Job Purpose: The Technical Librarian is responsible for developing, organizing, and maintaining a comprehensive library of aircraft maintenance manuals and technical documentation to support flight and maintenance operations. This role ensures compliance with FAA regulations and internal quality standards while improving access to critical information across the organization. Duties and Responsibilities: Acquire manuals, standards, and other publications necessary. Catalog all materials into a database or information system. May create abstracts, bibliographies, and metadata to classify documents. Manage access accounts to library-related electronic systems for employees and to external sources. Driven to understand customer needs and improve processes. Communicate with all levels of the organization to develop a comprehensive library in support of company, flight, and maintenance operations. Uphold FAA and 21 Air Standards of quality. Must be able to work on complex tasks with limited assistance. Promote and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Technical Publications department, including procedures, quality control, workflow, and tools. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Technical Publications. Requirements Skills and Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Communications, Research, English, or field related. Relevant work experience may be substituted. Strong communication skills. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Excellent oral, written, organizational, and problem-solving skills with an attention to details. Must be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude. Must be available for overtime and/or to work a flexible schedule, as job requirements dictate. Preferred Skills: Two years of experience in a government-related industry preferred. Thorough knowledge of 14 CFR Part 119, 121, and 145 FAA regulations and related requirements and specifications. Experience with Adobe Acrobat Physical Requirements: Light work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Ability to stand, bend, and reach to maintain files, sit for extended periods of time.
