SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Tertiary qualifications in chemistry/chemical engineering/industrial chemistry or related
  • Coatings background, AUTOMOTIVE AND INDUSTRIAL - essential
  • Demonstrates an understanding of processes and formulations related to paints/coatings
  • Product reformulation/process development skills
  • Excellent planning, coordinating and organising skills.
  • Commercial acumen
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • People management experience essential
  • Ability to travel Internationally 1-2 times/year essential

Responsibilities:

Currently Evolve Scientific Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager to lead and develop the QC/R&D team within a leading specialty coatings manufacturer. The role is permanent for the successful applicant.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this leadership role, will provide direction to a team who work closely with production and technical support. Regular interaction with customers on product related issues will be a requirement.
This is an ideal role for an experienced technically focused manager who has the personality and credibility to influence while ensuring that R&D, quality and testing services are delivered to the highest standard.
-Technical management of the R&D and QC functions -Providing hands on cover when necessary -Management of new product development -Investigation of non-conformances -Project management -People management -Problem solving - internal/ customer/ raw material supplier issues
