Huntapac Produce Ltd is a fourth generation family-owned business which was established in 1942. Nestled in a small village in the heart of Lancashire, we specialise in growing, packing and distributing a variety of root vegetables.
Supplying some of the major supermarkets in the UK as well as independent retailers, wholesalers, food service, caterers and food manufacturing sectors standards are consistently very high and a strong management team ensure these standards are maintained at all times. Family tradition and a commitment to quality are still as important today as they were 70 years ago. This heritage has passed down through generations of the Hunter family and ensures that Huntapac is supplying high quality produce whilst embracing a rapidly changing food market.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the QMS is maintained and updated in a timely fashion to ensure constant conformance to the relevant Standards or Customer Codes of Practice to assure product Safety, Legality, Quality and Integrity.
  • To lead all Audits of the site and to ensure that the site is maintained in a state of “Audit Ready” preparedness.
  • To be ready to audit the supply base or be ready for any Technical visits to source as and when required.
  • To Audit the Labour providers in conjunction with the HR Manager at the required frequencies.
  • To work closely with the Farms Technical Manager to ensure that best practice is observed throughout the entire supply chain.
  • To ensure awareness of any key legislation changes and any Food Safety incidents within the industry and especially those that relate directly to the Products supplied to by Huntapac.
  • To ensure that good Customer relations are maintained and that Huntapac is represented professionally through the role and at all times.
  • To ensure that all reasonable Customer requests are dealt with in a timely manner and that any set and agreed timelines for submission of work or projects are met.
  • To head up the internal Quality Control and Quality Assurance systems and to directly manage the people engaged in those systems.
  • To assess processes and systems and examine and suggest improvements where necessary with a view to increased efficiency, cost reductions or best practice.
  • To assist support and develop the company’s quality culture across the business including Storage and Distribution.
  • Provide technical support to the additional sites (Plantation Road) to ensure external accreditations are maintained.
  • Monitor and advise of any product integrity risks through the use of Horizon Scan Alerts or other sources which may highlight changes to TACCP & VACCP risk assessments
  • Ensure company policies and procedures relating to Food Safety, Quality, Authenticity Legality and Integrity are implemented and manage staff to ensure compliance
    Any other duties deemed necessary by the Technical Director.
    Full training will be provided for any new tasks that may be given / expected.

    Pay: Up to £40,000.00 per year
