Description
As Technical Manager Jr, you will provide comprehensive technical support to manufacturing operations, process validation, and quality control. You will also develop products that meet customer specifications at the lowest cost through optimized formula design and adaptation of alternative raw materials. You will lead excellence in technical project execution and provide specialized service to major OEM customers. It resolves functional issues in customer production lines and supports successful new product launches. The role strictly follows PPG procedures and participates in internal programs such as LLS and SSPL. The strategic objective is to achieve growth and strengthen PPG's market presence through high-quality technical solutions and exceptional customer service. You will report to S&T Customer Support Manager. Key Responsibilities Be a primary technical leader in front of customers, leading product launches, supporting RCA investigations, and serving as technical link with other PPG facilities, building strategic relationships. Coordinate product development obtaining engineering approval and customer approval processes for products requested by customers, ensuring compliance with specifications, qualification testing, and regulatory approvals. Evaluate and modify formulas to optimize performance and cost optimization to maintain profitability while meeting quality standards and customer specifications. Plan and organize training, ability matrix, and development plans for employees under responsibility, developing a team of chemists and technicians focused on driving excellence in project execution. Lead all global processes (FCO, SSPL, CAPEX, RMT, LFA, Color Portal, CRS, and Scorecard) that impact corporate strategy. Be a technology transfer leader between PPG facilities, ensuring successful implementation of best practices and technical innovations. Plan and organize headcount and supplies according to PPG policies and goals to achieve our goals and strategic targets. Participate in and promote quality programs and continuous improvement projects like APQP and BPIs to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Evaluate and submit formulas in the system for quality and manufacturing approval, from initial trials to massive production implementation. Implement and promote safety culture and PPG policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and personnel protection across all operations. Qualifications Chemical Engineer, Industrial Chemical Engineer, or Chemist - Advanced technical degree essential for driving innovation in coating formulations, process optimization, and strategic product development that positions PPG as market leader. Minimum 2 years of people management experience - Demonstrated ability to develop technical teams that deliver strategic results and improve organizational growth. English proficiency ACapability to translate technical complexity into value for executives while coaching technical teams toward strategic goals. Essential for maintaining strategic partnerships with main OEM customers, increasing customer satisfaction, and securing long-term business growth. Availability for travel Minimum 5 years coating development experience - Specialized expertise essential for developing solutions, optimizing product portfolios, and maintaining PPG's technological competitive edge in the coatings industry.
