The core purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on buildings and equipment to ensure that assets are upheld to their original state. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Oversee the management and maintenance of building, plant and equipment Manage and support technical projects within the Hospital Manage and mitigate Technical Operations risk within the Hospital Oversee and manage on-site contractors/suppliers in the Hospital Ensure quality management and continuous improvement within Technical Operations To manage stakeholder relations and client service within the technical environment at Mediclinic Lead and manage the people in the technical team Manage and control department budget/finances REQUIRED EDUCATION ESSENTIAL EDUCATION NQF level 6 or 7 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Thermodynamics and Electro Technology passed at 2nd-year level, with relevant required experience. DESIRED EDUCATION Tertiary qualification in business management / leadership ESSENTIAL CERTIFICATION Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport DESIRED CERTIFICATION n/a REQUIRED EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE NQF level 6 with minimum 12 years’ of post-graduate engineering experience with HVAC and auxiliary electrical power supplies exposure. OR NQF level 7 with minimum 6 years’ of post-graduate engineering experience with HVAC and auxiliary electrical power supplies exposure. DESIRED EXPERIENCE 2 Years’ experience within a facility management environment REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Technical Plant Operations and Building Maintenance People Management Financial management and budgeting principles Project Management Competent person as defined in paragraphs (b), (c), or (d) as per General Machinery Regulations of 1988 (OHS Act 85 of 1993) [South Africa only] Quality Management Preventative maintenance Fault finding and troubleshooting Report writing & communication verbal and written Operational Standards e.g. LEAN principles Use of mechanical tools and machinery Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office) All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
