Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a proactive, experienced Technical Manager to lead food safety, quality assurance, and compliance at our Brighter Foods site in Tywyn – a key part of THG’s global Nutrition Manufacturing network. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in upholding the highest standards across our operations, ensuring that every product we produce is safe, high quality, and meets both regulatory and customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the site’s Food Safety and Quality agenda, championing a culture of excellence across all technical functions.
  • Own and maintain the Site Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring full compliance with legislation, customer standards, and best practice.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, changes in regulation, and customer requirements to ensure our standards remain industry-leading.
  • Embed a culture of proactive risk assessment and technical integrity, positioning the technical function as a valued and trusted centre of expertise.
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators to monitor, challenge, and elevate quality and safety performance across the site.
  • Ensure all product batches released to market meet stringent quality and food safety standards.
  • Coordinate and lead third-party audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up activity.
  • Support new projects from a quality perspective – advising on hygienic design, equipment specification, food contact materials, and cleaning validation.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing technical team – conducting regular performance reviews, identifying skills gaps, and supporting ongoing training and development.
  • Manage and investigate customer complaints, using appropriate tools and methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in internal and external audits in line with the audit schedule.
  • Drive continuous improvement and promote quality awareness across the site.
  • Maintain rigorous site hygiene standards, supporting smooth and compliant manufacturing operations.
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and leadership to your team – fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
