TECHNICAL MARKETING SPECIALIST – WORKFORCE IDENTITY

Do you like building things, explaining how they work, and helping others succeed? Join Okta’s Product Marketing team and help define the IAM industry with our Workforce Identity platform. Where we help IT and Security teams manage the lifecycle, access and governance of all identities (human and non-human).
About the Role
We’re looking for a Technical Product Marketing Specialist (TPMS) who enjoys working hands-on with technology and explaining it clearly. In this role, you’ll help bring Okta’s identity products to life through demos, content, and tooling that showcase how they work. You’ll configure the Okta platform for different scenarios, integrating with 3rd party applications. You’ll also help create marketing assets — from videos to walkthroughs — that support product launches, customer adoption, and sales conversations.
This is a great opportunity if you have some experience building technical content and want to grow your skills in Identity/Access Management and product storytelling.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • 1–2 years of experience in product marketing, or technical writing — or equivalent experience..
  • Ability to explain complex topics simply through writing, video, or demos.
  • Familiar with design or editing tools like Figma, Adobe Premiere, or Camtasia.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience creating technical content, such as blog posts, tutorials, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is helpful but not required.
  • Experience with identity and access management concepts (e.g., OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML) and/or platforms (e.g. Auth0, Okta) is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Write technical content such as blog posts, how-to guides, internal enablement, and demo scripts.
  • Create and record product demos using tools like Camtasia, Figma, Adobe Premiere, or After Effects.
  • Collaborate with product, product marketing, and sales teams to support product launches and customer conversations.
  • Learn and explain platform capabilities and IAM use cases, including authentication, authorization, user management, governance, privileged access management, and orchestration. .
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Okta’s IAM platform, including its features, benefits, and target use cases.
  • Create compelling technical content, such as demos, tutorials, and best practices guides, to help developers integrate and utilize Okta’s IAM solution.
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations at conferences, webinars, and customer meetings.
  • Work closely with product management and engineering to translate technical product information into clear and concise marketing materials.
  • Provide technical enablement and training to sales teams and partners.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from sales and customers to improve product messaging and marketing strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in IAM and the broader identity management space.
