We are looking for a Technical Officer - Electrical Maintenance for our Weipa Operations, a world class asset in the Rio Tinto Bauxite business.
You’ll live in the idyllic coastal town of Weipa, working across our Northern Operations and working a Monday to Friday 9-day fortnight roster.

Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Ensure that all aspects of the Andoom mine meet health, safety and environmental regulatory, compliance and business values requirements.
  • Providing representation of Weipa in customer and community relations and activities.
  • Supervises trade employees in maintenance activities.
  • Allocates maintenance coverage for breakdowns.
  • Resolves on the job issues (with regards to planned maintenance activities, maintenance shutdowns, etc.)
  • Monitors working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees working in the area.
  • Team Management: Define staffing needs, establish selection criteria, and identify development needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for improvement and best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other functions to ensure seamless operations.
