Description
Department: System Operation Department / System Control Branch Contract period: Permanent / 2-Year Contract Reporting to the control engineers of the System Control team, the appointee will be responsible for the provision of trouble call dispatch and general logistic support to System Control operation and work on shift roster.  Major accountabilities: •    Direct and dispatch round-the-clock, field Emergency Services Team to investigate power system abnormalities and rectify supply interruption promptly and efficiently •    Conduct remote meter switching through Smart Meter Platform •    Ensure that each incident / outage reported by customers is properly and timely followed-up and the details are precisely and accurately recorded in Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), and to compile performance reports •    Supervise a team of Assistant Technical Officer to perform duty •    Identify customers affected in major supply interruption incident and provide the information to Customer Interactive Centre for emergency calls handling and Public Affairs for handling media enquiries •    Assist in providing power system information to internal users during system emergency •    Assist Control Engineers in daily control room operations, special projects, and in mobilizing available resources such as test van, mobile generator, and standby engineers to attend power system incidents •    Assist Control Engineers in preparation of switching program for planned outages •    Construct ADMS power network diagrams and update the associated database according to network changes •    Work on shift and attend ad-hoc duty to support shift team during emergency •    Ensure effective and accurate collection, and prompt dissemination of operational information from / to various parties Requirements: •    Higher Certificate / Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Professional Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 2 years’ relevant experience OR Ordinary Certificate / Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 4 years’ relevant experience, preferably associated with Regions’ engineering work •    Possession of 11 kV Authorized Person qualification •    Possession of Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate •    Possession of Safety Supervisor or equivalent •    Good understanding of CLP Power Safety Rules, Supply Rules, statutory and HSEQ requirements •    Good knowledge of CLP 11kV and low voltage supply systems and their operations •    Good knowledge of relevant Process Control and IT systems such as Outage Planning System (OPS), ADMS, Energy Management System (EMS), Geographical Information System (GIS) and any computer drawing applications such as CAD, VISIO, COREL DRAW •    Good knowledge of simplified electrical installation, wiring, plant and substation drawings •    High ability to use PC applications, e.g. MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. •    Mindful and possess good safety awareness and track record •    Self-initiative, independent, tactful with good communication and interpersonal skills, and able to work under pressure •    Good supervisory skill and good problem solving and influencing skills •    Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese Candidate who has shown good potential for further development but with less qualification and/or experience will be considered for a position at lower grade.    ABOUT CLP CLP was founded in Hong Kong in 1901, at a time when electricity was still a novelty worldwide. Responsibilities
The appointee will manage round-the-clock dispatch of field emergency teams and provide logistic support for system control operations. They are also responsible for supervising assistant staff, maintaining accurate incident records in the ADMS, and assisting control engineers with daily operations and switching programs.
