POSITION DESCRIPTION

We seek enthusiastic Technical Officers to join our Histology department Nightshift in Macquarie Park. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Perform routine histology procedures including microtomy (tissue sectioning) and embedding and preparing high-quality slides for staining and analysis.
  • Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Adhering to standard laboratory protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues as they arise

APPLICATIONS

We are looking for the following:

  • Graduated with a TAFE NSW Certificate 3/4 in Laboratory Skills/Techniques or relevant Science Degree or recognised AIMS equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable in histological processes, histological instruments and laboratory equipment
  • Experience in a histology lab beneficial but not essential.
  • Open to working Full-time Nightshift Monday to Friday hours from 9pm to 5am.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
