NTAQ manages a diverse portfolio of heritage properties which includes one of the Gold Coast’s most popular tourist destinations, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
As our organisation continues to deliver vibrant guest experiences, our recently added enchanted night walk attraction features stunning light displays, sculptures, and projections, offering visitors a magical journey after dark. To support this attraction, we are seeking a highly skilled AV Technician (Technical Operator) to join our team and play a pivotal role in operating and maintaining our night walk attraction.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have proved experience in AV installation and operations and knowledge of control systems and automation is highly desired. Other skills we are looking for include;

  • Expertise with lighting and DMX programming, show cue programming.
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot various AV systems.
  • Equipment maintenance and repairs, soldering skills highly regarded.
  • Ability and interest in troubleshooting and resolution of multi-system problems.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends to support the night walk attraction and accommodate onsite event needs.
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver’s license is required and additional certifications such as rigging tickets or EWP (Elevating Work Platform) licenses are highly desirable.
  • Be prepared to work in an outdoor environment, in a workplace that has native wildlife such as birds and reptiles
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our experienced and highly skilled AV Technician, you will play a crucial role in the operational phase of our exciting attraction. You will be overseeing the management and upkeep of the attraction to ensure all zones run smoothly for each daily operation (includes nights and weekends).
Your technical expertise will extend across the Sanctuary, where you’ll handle a variety of AV systems, assisting with installations, maintenance, and upgrades. This contribution will be vital not only to the attraction but also to the success of various events at our newly built venue, The Homestead, where you’ll support conferences, gala dinners, and special functions. In this diverse role, you’ll have opportunities to showcase your skills in programming, tuning PA systems, and utilising control systems and automation to help create an immersive experience for our guests.
Your ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently will be essential in minimising disruptions and keeping operations on track. Additionally, you’ll maintain detailed records of installations, services, and equipment, while helping to develop a comprehensive maintenance schedule and asset registry. This work will ensure all AV systems are operating efficiently and effectively, enhancing the guest experience and contributing to the attraction’s success.
As a key point of contact, you will build strong internal and external relationships, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment and play an integral role, as you bring this new attraction to life and help create unforgettable experiences for our guests.
