Role Definition Serve as the strategic leader driving the transformation of the Mining Technology Academy (MTA) into an AI-enabled, interactive learning ecosystem tailored for Caterpillar’s global mining community. This foundational role empowers dealers and customers by improving efficiency in mining operations and MineStar™ product adoption. It brings a strong mining perspective and deep understanding of user, customer, and dealer needs to create engaging, data-driven learning experiences that accelerate adoption and deliver operational excellence. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the vision for MTA as a next-generation learning platform aligned with enterprise goals and mining industry needs. Innovation Delivery: Introduce AI technologies, gamification, and advanced analytics to create immersive, personalized learning experiences. User Experience Excellence: Partner with state-of-the-art learning consultants to deliver a marked step-up in engagement and usability. Content Development: Lead a dedicated team of 12–15 specialists (content developers, translators, multimedia experts) to design and deploy new learning modules. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with MineStar™ Implementation teams, Product Support, and global stakeholders to ensure solutions address operational challenges. Global Engagement: Coordinate with regional learning champions; limited travel (2–3 trips annually) for stakeholder alignment and rollout. Degree Requirement Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 10+ years of experience in mining technology, MineStar™ implementations, or digital mining solutions. Strong understanding of mining operations, automation, and workforce enablement. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage global stakeholders. Excellent communication skills—assertive, trust-building, and stakeholder-focused. Highly self-organized with a strong sense of accountability for deliverables. Working knowledge of LMS/LXP platforms, SCORM/xAPI, or willingness to learn modern learning technologies.
