MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience. * 2 years of experience in program management. * Experience building, automating, and developing large scale distributed systems from the ground up. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical related field. * 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. * Experience with technologies such as virtualization and complex software infrastructure systems, compute, storage, data migration, capacity, load balancing, and software defined networking. * Experience managing end-to end execution of complex programs that span multiple engineering teams through the software project lifecycle (build, test and release on time). * Experience within the Automotive, Transportation, Mapping (GIS) industries or working on consumer facing products. * Ability to be an influential member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members as well as managing third-party vendors. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs. The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives. The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
