Clopay Corporation a leading manufacturer of Garage Doors and Commercial Closure Products. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our New Product Development team in Mason, OH to focus on projects involving a complex ecosystem of software, custom hardware/firmware, and cloud services. You will orchestrate the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring a market-leading user experience is delivered on time, on budget, and to our high standards of quality and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience demonstrating the ability to manage complex technology projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a proven track record of successfully launching products that feature deeply integrated software and hardware components.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) including Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with firmware development cycles is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with dependencies across a full technology stack, including user-facing applications, cloud backend services, and custom hardware.
  • Experience with projects requiring third-party API integration and adherence to external certification standards is a significant asset.
  • Experience in a product development environment with quantifiable results proving the ability to grow a business through a new product introductions.
  • Experience working with outside contract resources, interfacing with suppliers, and working cooperatively with marketing and sales to drive organizational growth strategies.
  • Travel is regularly required
Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of all work streams related to the planning and execution of integrated technology platforms, encompassing user-facing software, custom hardware/firmware, and scalable cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive, integrated project plan using agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) to track progress across software, firmware, and hardware development teams.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) for software teams while integrating hardware development milestones from a stage-gate or waterfall process.
  • Act as the central point of contact, managing dependencies and communication between multidisciplinary engineering teams (software, firmware, cloud), UI/UX designers, and key business stakeholders including marketing and legal.
  • Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, paying special attention to the complex technical dependencies across the full product stack.
  • Oversee the project plan for third-party technology partnerships and industry certification processes, ensuring all technical and procedural requirements are met.
  • Lead the development of, and take responsibility for, the execution of a project plan that brings designs in on time, on budget, and to cost targets.
  • Generate periodic reporting and metrics as required to ensure all parties in the organization are aware of project status and executing to committed project plans.
