Description
WHY DEPT®? We are pioneers at heart. What this means is that we are always leaning forward, thinking of what we can create tomorrow that does not exist today. We were born digital and we are a new model of agency, with a deep skillset in tech and marketing. That’s why we hire curious, self-driven, talented people who never stop innovating. Our culture is big enough to cope and small enough to care. Meaning, that with people across 20+ countries, we’re big enough to provide you with the best tools, global opportunities, and benefits that help you thrive. While acting small by investing in you, your growth, your team, and giving you the autonomy to solve our clients’ problems, no matter where you are in the world. Role overview As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll be the day-to-day operational anchor for the development team. You will manage most 1-1 interactions with developers and serve as their primary point of contact for support and guidance. You will attend and occasionally lead M-Th standups and coordinator syncs to ensure smooth alignment across the team. A key part of your role is to translate business requirements and loosely documented visions into actionable development tasks, assign them to the right people, and maintain strong momentum. Beyond coordination, you will provide technical guidance where relevant, such as advising on code design and implementation choices, reviewing GitHub issues, and contributing to system design and documentation. You’ll work closely with our Engineering Manager to help shape both the short-term execution plan and the long-term architectural vision. This role is not just “support”: it is a chance to drive technical direction, strengthen workflows, and play a central role in scaling an internal media workflow platform. Responsibilities Product Development & Vision Working with media craft leads to translating business needs into clear, actionable development requirements. Help define an evolving frontend and backend infrastructure, starting from a loosely documented vision. Technical Guidance Advise developers on design or implementation blockages. Provide hands-on guidance on GitHub issues and possibly select PR reviews. Contribute to defining and documenting system technical requirements, architecture, and design decisions. Team Coordination Manage most 1-1 connections with developers, ensuring smooth communication and support. Attend standups and coordinator syncs, leading as necessary. Identify and document missing tasks, and assign them to the right team members. Convey task details clearly to developers. Support the engineering manager in creating and executing the development plan. Process & Documentation Maintain high-quality project documentation (requirements, design, decisions). Suggest and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity. Qualifications Proven experience directly supporting software development teams (not just “close collaboration”), with the ability to translate loosely defined requirements into clear, developer-ready tasks. Outstanding communication skills, particularly with engineers and with those for whom English is a secondary language. Strong writing skills, including the ability to create technical documentation (e.g., requirements, design, rationale). Prior software development experience is a strong plus, but not essential. Knowledge of marketing workflows is a plus; if missing, you must be eager to learn. This position is temporary for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. WE SUPPORT YOU BEING YOU DEPT® is an equal opportunity employer (EOE). We believe our work is at its best when our people feel safe and free to be themselves.
